Administrative Order 20-001 Emergency Court Closure 

District Court  front counters will be closed from March 17 thru April 24, 2020.  You can contact us by email at District.Court@co.benton.wa.us.

Starting March 23rd to April 3rd, all court hearings are cancelled except for in-custody matters and special sets. 


Pursuant to Administrative Order 20-001, all infraction mitigation hearings will be done by mail or email.  Any hearings set between March 23rd to April 3rd are cancelled.  Notices will be sent out with instructions regarding your options.  Click here.

You have 15 days to respond to the infraction from the date the ticket was issued.  You have 4 options to choose from to respond to a ticket:

1.  Pay the listed penalty;
2.  Request a Mitigation Hearing to admit and explain the circumstances;
3.  Ask for a Deferred Finding to keep the infraction off your driving record;
4. Request a Contested Hearing to challenge the infraction.


   I was given a traffic infraction. How do I get a hearing?
