WE ARE MOVING!! 

By the end of 2019, the Planning Department will have TWO office locations to serve you better!
The first move, to 102206 Wiser Parkway in Kennewick, will happen on November 26th, 2019.

We will be adding a new location within the Public Services Building at 102206 Wiser Parkway in Kennewick AND we will be moving our current Prosser office into the Benton County Courthouse at 620 Market Street in Prosser.

CUP 2019-006 – The applicant, Linda Kennedy, is requesting a conditional use permit for a dog agility and training business to be located on approximately 2.5 acres in the Rural Lands 5 (RL-5) Zoning District. The applicant is proposing both indoor and outdoor training activities. The indoor training activities are to occur within a proposed 5,400 sq. ft. (60’ x 90’) accessory building and the outdoor activities are proposed to occur in a 3,600 sq. ft. grass/fenced area on the property. In addition to agility training classes consisting of a maximum 10 dogs per class, the applicant will hold seminars and foster care up to 10 dogs at the site at one time.  The date of the written determination of completeness on this action is September 25, 2019.  The site is located at 2720 South 38th Avenue, in West Richland Section 08, Township 9 North, Range 28 East, W.M. 
NOTICE IS GIVEN that said applications will be considered by the Benton County Hearings Examiner at the public hearing on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Planning Annex Hearing Room at 1002 Dudley Avenue in Prosser, Washington. All concerned persons may appear and present any support for or objections to the application(s) or provide written testimony to the Hearings Examiner in care of the Planning Department on or before the date of the hearings.  More information concerning the action(s) can be obtained from Greg J. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE OF HEARING re the Benton County Planning Commission, in the matter of proposed 2019 annual amendments to the Benton County Comprehensive Plan; pursuant to Washington State Planning Law RCW 36.70A.130.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that public comment will be taken on the proposed amendment to the Benton County Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., in the Benton County Planning Annex Hearing Room at 1002 Dudley Avenue in Prosser. 

File CPA 2019-001 is a request by the City of Kennewick to amend its Urban Growth Area (UGA) to add approximately 279.53 acres to be designated for industrial uses. The 279.53 acres includes approximately 56.70 acres of existing road right of way.  The property within the application is located South of I-82 and East of the I-82 and SR 395 Interchange and is located along Christianson Road in the South Half of the SE Quarter of the SW Quarter of Section 17 and the NE Quarter of the SW Quarter of the SE Quarter of the SW Quarter and the SE Quarter of Section 18, Township 8 North, Range 29 East, W.M.  Parcel # 1-1889-200-0001-005.

SAID PROPOSAL has been reviewed under the requirements of SEPA (RCW 43.21C).  The City of Kennewick adopted an Existing Determination of Non-Significance for the 2012 UGA Expansion that was issued on September 26, 2012.

Comments regarding the proposed amendment or SEPA determination of the proposal may be made at the above-mentioned hearing, submitted in writing to the Benton County Planning Department; P.O.
