Benton & Franklin Counties Office of Public DefenseThis is the official website of the Benton & Franklin Counties Office of Public Defense, the agency charged with providing publicly funded defense services to indigent persons when required by law or the Constitution. This office serves the citizens of both Benton and Franklin Counties on the following types of cases:
- Benton or Franklin County Superior Court criminal cases
- Benton County District Court criminal cases (including criminal cases initiated by the cities of Kennewick, Richland, West Richland and Prosser)
- Franklin County District Court criminal cases
- Benton or Franklin County Juvenile offender cases
- Benton or Franklin County Juvenile dependency cases (representing children)
- Benton or Franklin County Involuntary Treatment Act cases (mental health civil commitment)
