Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Update
The Benton County Planning Commission currently has two vacancies on its seven-member board. The vacancies are for the remainder of a four-year term and may be re-appointed for four-year terms thereafter. The first vacancy is an “at large” position and can be from any one of the three Commissioner Districts, the second vacancy must be from Commissioner District 3. The primary responsibility of the Benton County Planning Commission is to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on proposed subdivisions, zone changes, ordinance amendments, zoning ordinance amendments, Comprehensive Plan Amendments and to work on updates to the zoning, subdivision, and short plat ordinances.
